ABOUT QSAR


Rescue is hard work and it's addictive. QSAR happen to rescue one of the most over represented breeds in most of this country's pounds - "staffies". To us they are a beloved breed of dog, they get under your skin and seem to be able to thank us for saving them. They are so resilient - often left for dead, starving, or with horrible skin conditions - yet they bounce back with the right care and love. A second chance is all they need and they make the most of it.

Many days we are at our limit - too many dogs, not enough carers- but then along comes a photo of another one needing help, and somehow we find the money, we find a foster carer, we get the dog off death row, and that is food for the soul for us here at QSAR. We thrive on getting these dogs to safety and watching them come back to life - to see their tails wagging, to see them interacting with other dogs and children just like they're supposed to.

QSAR's Growth


QSAR has grown from having a couple of dogs in foster care to now being able to have anything up to 100 dogs and puppies in care. We have an amazing group of people all working towards the same goal - to get as many staffies to safety as we possibly can. There have been many sad stories along the way and the reality is not all the dogs make it, but we know that we do our very, very best to create a happy ending. When an adoptive family sends us an update of how their rescue dog has filled a void in their life, it makes it all worthwhile and it keeps us going. There is a home out there for every single dog that comes through our doors.

The most important part of what we do is our foster carers. They are vital in any rescue, without them we cannot do this. Yes it is hard to let the foster dogs go, but the feeling of knowing that you have helped a dog come from the depths of despair to being part of a loving family outweighs any other emotion! We are always in need of foster carers, we have a dog to suit just about any situation.


Our Goals


Our long term goal is to have a shelter, a large property where we can house many dogs and have people working there full-time. In the meantime we are working hard to recruit more foster carers, provide temporary kennels for use by our current carers, and to secure a few boarding kennels to house emergency surrenders.

  • We hate to turn people down due to not having the resources to help them, that's why it's important for us to keep fundraising.
  • We receive no government funding and rely heavily on donations and fundraisers.
  • We are fortunate to have a large social media following allowing us to raise much needed funds when needed.
  • We are fighting the battle to save as many dogs as we can!
